Heather's Dance Academy believes that the Art of Dance is of the utmost importance for our Mind, Body and Soul. We strive to build strong, confident, well-rounded dancers through a positive and encouraging environment.

A legal guardian/parent must be present at the time of registration.

A Non-refundable fee of $30 per student is required yearly at the time of registration.

Regular attendance is imperative. Refunds will not be issued for any missed classes. Please be on time! Absences and tardiness will affect an entire class. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your scheduled lesson and begin properly warming up. Please make every effort to attend class unless your dancer is under the weather or an emergency arises. Heather’s Dance Academy is not responsible for providing aftercare outside of dance classes.

Heather’s Dance Academy is following all CDC guidelines on how we handle Covid-19. At any given time, protocols can change and we will adjust accordingly. Barre’s will be cleaned and sanitized between each class. Temperatures will be taken upon entering the studio. Students will be expected to wash their hands frequently. All students will be placed a minimum of 3 feet apart to maintain proper dance space. A parent may enter the lobby the drop off their dancer and to take care of any business matters. For your safety and the spacing in our Lobby, parents will not be allowed to congregate in the lobby while classes are in session. Students must bring their own water bottles!

Tuition is due the FIRST lesson of each month. September’s Tuition should include First and Last month’s payment. May’s tuition will be collected at the beginning of the Dance Season.

Tuition will be considered late after the 10th of the month and a $10 late fee will be added to your account.

Payments can be placed in the box in the Lobby, Venmo,  or we can invoice you through your email address.   We accept Cash, Checks and Debit/Credit cards

($2 Transaction Fee for all Credit/Debit).

A $25 check fee will be added for all returned checks.

Accounts more than 2 months in arrears will be frozen and the student may not be allowed to participate until the account is brought current.

If a class is missed, talk with your Instructor about a make-up lesson.

Months with 5 lessons will make up for Holidays when we do not attend class.

All Payments made to Heather’s Dance Academy for Tuition, Costumes, or Registration Fees are non-refundable. Any over-payment will be credited to your studio account.

Studio Rules

Please do not leave any children left unattended in the studio.

There will be no food or gum permitted in the dance studio

Dance shoes should not be worn outside of the building

Students should not arrive more than 10 minutes early for class and should be picked up promptly.

Parents are not allowed to enter ongoing classes; this creates a distraction and startles younger dancers.

Restroom is for students and emergency purposes only.

Dancers are expected to respect their Instructor and fellow students and maintain proper behavior during class. Behavioral issues such as Bullying, being disruptive, using profanity, etc. will result in a parent conference. Parents are expected set a good example for each dancer they come in contact with while at Heather’s Dance Academy. We encourage each other! We build each other up! Ongoing behavior issues will not be tolerated and will result in being dismissed from Heather’s Dance Academy.

Class Placement and Observation

Students are placed in classes based on skill level first and then age. Our main interest is to offer our students proper training for each stage of development. Other important considerations for class placement are attention span, which includes stamina for a longer class time, the ability to take correction, understanding of the technical aspects of the movement, strength, the possibility of injury, and confidence. Another key factor in the decision would be that students who advance before they’re ready might become discouraged and thus no longer enjoy their dance experience. Your Instructor will make the final decision on determining which class your student will be placed in!

Parents and visitors are not allowed in the studio during class times.

Parents are invited to watch on Observation Days which are held several times during the year and will be announced on your Monthly Newsletters.
